After several years of working with small vineyard owners in Sonoma County, California, I've seen the passion small vineyard owners have to be involved in the grape growing process. They are very "hands on" and want to learn more. Some of my clients grow grapes to make their own wine, and others are selling their grapes to boutique wineries where they have received very high ratings. Many of them have attended weekend viticulture classes and have read all the books on how to take care of their vines in order to produce high quality fruit. However, when they actually get into the vineyard, they would call and ask for help. This inspired me to create an instructional video for small vineyard owners (and potential owners) that would actually take them into the vineyard and show them what to do and how to do it. After watching the video, the consensus has been unanimous. The combination of visual and spoken content clarifies the many tasks awaiting the small vineyard owner.
